I announced my partnership with Hope Resource Center a couple weeks ago. It wasn’t until last night that I actually got to take part in a Hope event to solidify my partnership. Each year Hope Resource Center throws a fundraiser at a venue in town to help people learn more about what they do. This year, I got to both attend and photograph the event for them held at The Foundry in World’s Fair Site. Throughout the last couple weeks I’ve learned a lot about what Hope Resource Center does and the purpose behind their business. But last night, listening to one of the Hope girls give her testimony about her experience with Hope brought it all home for me.
You guys. This nonprofit is literally SAVING LIVES. The people they have on staff are sacrificing SO MUCH to help women with unplanned pregnancies. The story that the Hope alum told last night shared a small glimpse into what Hope does for it’s patients. She spoke about how her mentor from Hope showed up at the hospital first thing in the morning when she went into labor… and stayed there ALL DAY until the baby finally came. She talked about the panic attacks she would have in the middle of the night and she would call this same mentor, who would listen and talk to her and bring a breath of calmness. If you are a believer, you should be supporting this organization. They are literally being the hands and feet of Christ and rescuing Knoxville from the tragedy of abortion. If there is anything at all that you can stand behind, it’s the life of a baby. If there’s anything at all that will tug on your heartstrings, it’s an unborn child that is completely helpless.
I am absolutely so honored to have gotten to be there last night. I’m so humbled by the testimony that was shared. This is not a “if you should” or “if you can” type of moment, this is more of a “when you do”… why wait? I’ve attached hyperlinks to all of the places I say “Hope” throughout this blog post that will take you directly to their website to learn more about giving, supporting, and volunteering. You could literally be part of saving a child’s life…. whaaaat???!!!! When you hear a story about a guy running out to rescue the child from being ran over or a mom who lifts some insanely heavy object that fell on their baby, you probably give them major props and think to yourself I will probably never get to make in impact like that. All they’re doing is saving the child’s life… and that’s exactly what you could be doing when you partner with Hope. The drama and stress you relate to those other events are still present in the life of the mother that is pregnant, just because you may not witness it first hand doesn’t mean it’s not there.
I probably sound like an infomercial at this point, but I hope so bad that you read this and pray on it and that God stirs in your heart to do something about it… I’m telling you, it is 150% worth it.
